Latin America
One of the greatest strengths of our firm’s Latin America practice group is the ability of our attorneys to serve as a bridge between the business and legal systems of Latin America and other countries. The attorneys in this group speak Spanish, Portuguese or both, and many have lived in this region. We have a pragmatic approach to dealing with the legal issues affecting Latin American matters, as well as an in-depth understanding of the nuances of Latin American business transactions.
Hughes Hubbard’s wide range of legal services enables us to represent Latin American companies doing business in the United States and around the world, as well as multinational corporations and financial institutions doing business in Latin America. Through frequent trips to the region and our firm’s close relationships with leading Latin American law firms, our lawyers keep abreast of the rapidly changing scene there.
Our Latin America corporate practice is concentrated primarily in our firm’s New York and Miami offices, allowing us to offer our clients the convenience of both locations. Substantially all of the attorneys in this group, wherever located, are New York lawyers, and many are admitted in multiple jurisdictions. Our Washington office provides trade representation and client access to multilateral institutions and the United States government.
