Hughes Hubbard’s Private Equity practice focuses on representing private equity funds, hedge funds and financial sponsors, as well as their respective portfolio companies, in a wide range of investment, financing and related transactions.
These transactions include mergers and acquisitions of public and private companies through negotiated and unsolicited transactions, including:

In addition, our Private Equity practice includes a broad range of client representation in connection with the formation and capital raising, as well as the operations, of many different types of investment funds, including private equity funds and hedge funds, public mutual funds organized in the United States and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission, offshore investment funds that are offered abroad and in the United States and real estate investment partnerships.
Attorneys in our Private Equity practice regularly draw upon our expertise in virtually all areas of specialty, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, securities law, financial services and tax law. Additionally, in supporting our Private Equity practice, we are able to utilize our expertise in many of our other practice areas, including real estate, environmental law, labor and ERISA law, litigation, product liability, intellectual property and corporate reorganization. This allows us to, among other things, conduct comprehensive due diligence reviews of investment targets and investment assets, to the extent requested by our clients.
