Areas of Concentration
Ted Mayer is Co-Chair of Litigation at Hughes Hubbard. He has successfully defended a wide range of complex, high-stakes cases. He has served as one of the two national coordinating counsel in the defense of Merck in the Vioxx product liability litigation, and he has defended litigation involving a wide variety of other medicines and vaccines, including, currently, Fosamax®, and Vytorin®, and in the past, Zocor, Singulair®, Thimerosal-containing vaccines, and many others. Mr. Mayer has also handled, on a national coordinating counsel and individual case basis, many cases involving asbestos and other toxic substances, automobiles, and consumer products, such as toys. Mr. Mayer‘s experience also includes trials, appeals and coordination of significant litigation involving securities, professional liability, insurance, and trusts, and in the bankruptcy courts. Mr. Mayer is often called upon to develop and implement the strategic vision for defense of complex litigation. He also has deep, varied, and successful experience in the resolution of complex cases.
