On Feb. 1, 2012, Hughes Hubbard added 10 lawyers to its Paris office. Their arrival from the Paris office of SNR Denton enhances Hughes Hubbard’s ability to provide high-quality banking and finance, corporate, M&A, competition and intellectual property legal services in Europe.

The new partners are Sena Agbayissah, whose experience includes all types of financing (structured, project, asset, trade, acquisition finance, etc.), derivatives, capital markets and the restructuring of financial institutions; Alain Vincent, who focuses on M&A, joint ventures and corporate and commercial law; and Stefan Naumann, who handles litigation and arbitration with respect to patents, trademarks, copyrights, and image and design rights.

The new team will enlarge and create synergies with corporate, banking and finance, litigation and labor law groups, in Paris and the United States, as well as with the firm’s anti-corruption and compliance practice group, whose European base is in the Paris office.

Hughes Hubbard has been in Paris since 1966, one of the first U.S. firms to establish an office there. The office has achieved wide recognition for its dispute resolution practice, including both international arbitration and business litigation. Partners in the Paris office act as arbitrators and as counsel in arbitrations held under ICC, LCIA, AAA, and UNCITRAL rules, as well as in ad hoc arbitrations and the firm’s French litigation practice represents leading banks and industrial companies in all types of commercial and regulatory disputes. In addition,  the French labor law practice advises clients in the extensive range of French labor issues and routinely appears before the French labor courts.

The firm is committed to a strong French practice, and the Paris office has close relationships with leading lawyers and law firms worldwide.
