Areas of Concentration

George A. Tsougarakis has more than 20 years experience as a commercial litigator, all of them at Hughes Hubbard where he has enjoyed a broad and varied litigation practice. While he has developed expertise in pharmaceutical products litigation and insurance coverage, his experience has touched upon many different substantive practice areas. Within those areas, George’s practice has ranged from trying cases to counseling clients on how to avoid litigation. Chief among his strengths are his ability to counsel clients and help achieve strategic business solutions that also make sense from a legal perspective.

His most recent role was managing a team of more than 50 lawyers from more than a dozen firms who were charged with defending the depositions of pharmaceutical marketing executives and sales representatives across the country. In this role, George demonstrated his leadership skills as he applied Six Sigma principles to manage efficiently the entire operation.

George is a team player. In his time at Hughes Hubbard, he has served as the firm’s hiring partner for more than a decade and he is the chair of the firm’s Insurance Coverage Practice Group.
