PANELISTS
Ed Vidal is a corporate partner based in New York and is co-chairman of Hughes Hubbard’s Latin America Practice group. His clients include Latin American corporations active in cross-border transactions and financial institutions and multinational corporations operating in this region. He is a frequent guest commentator on CNN en Español.
John Wood is a partner in Hughes Hubbard’s Washington, D.C. office. His practice focuses on the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, internal investigations, corporate governance and litigation. He previously served in several high-level positions at the U.S. Department of Justice, including U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri.
John Freeman is Vice President and General Counsel for Technip USA Inc., based in Houston, and oversees all the legal work for Technip North America operations. In that role, he also serves as Regional Compliance Officer for the North America Region operations. John has nearly 23 years of legal experience – with U.S. government, in private practice and with three different major companies in the oil and gas sector.
Juan Luna is senior legal counsel for Latin America at Hewlett Packard, based in Houston.
John Fellas is a litigation partner at Hughes Hubbard based in New York with extensive experience in international arbitration and other cross-border court proceedings. He is handling cross-border litigation matters involving Brazil, Mexico and Spain and is a member of the board of directors of the American Arbitration Association.
Carla Powers Herron is a corporate counsel at Shell based in Houston. She is responsible for international arbitration and litigation matters, including in Latin America.
Francisco Balduzzi is senior counsel for Latin America based in Houston at Wood Group Management Services, a leading provider of services to the energy industry worldwide.
Ken Pierce is co-head of Hughes Hubbard’s international trade practice and is based in Washington, D.C. He practices in the full range of U.S. international trade actions, such as market access, antidumping and countervailing duty, safeguards, NAFTA and customs investigations, as well as trade investigations involving Mexico and Brazil.
Daniel Regan is a regulatory attorney based in Washington, D.C. with the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America, where he covers a wide range of legal, operational, safety and environmental issues, including NAFTA matters.
Derek Anchondo is the Chief Counsel-Global Marketing and Business Development based in Houston at Pride International, one of the world’s largest offshore drilling companies. In this capacity, he is responsible for overseeing global legal support for all of Pride’s international marketing, contractual, business development, engineering and asset management activities.
Katie Coleman is a partner based in New York and a member of Hughes Hubbard’s bankruptcy and financial restructuring practice, with particular experience in advising debtors and in cross-border reorganizations.
John Young is a Senior Managing Director based in Houston at Conway MacKenzie, a leading restructuring and financial advisory firm in the global markets.
Chris Artzer is Vice President and General Counsel at TPC Group, a Houston-based petro-chemicals company that is a leader in providing highly-specialized lines of chemical products to major chemical and petroleum-based companies worldwide.
Freddie Goudie is a Hughes Hubbard partner based in Miami who concentrates on corporate transactions, with a particular emphasis on Latin America. His practice includes cross-border corporate and finance transactions in this region, as well as the representation of Latin American companies and financial institutions in their U.S.-based operations.
Ernesto Garcia is a legal advisor based in Houston responsible for operations in the United States by Bancomer, the Mexican subsidiary of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), a global bank based in Spain.
Augusto Aragone is Executive Director and Regional Legal Counsel, based in Doral, Florida, covering Latin America for Ingram Micro, a worldwide leader in the distribution of technology products.
