Joanne Liu is an associate in Hughes Hubbard & Reed’s litigation department. Her practice includes work in various aspects of litigation and focuses on trademarks, international arbitration, copyright, and white collar & regulatory defense. She received her J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she co-chaired both the Class of 2017 Class Gift and the Columbia Law Women’s Association’s annual Myra Bradwell Banquet.
Before joining Hughes Hubbard, Joanne interned for several government agencies. While at the New York Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings, she drafted appeals decisions on topics ranging from sanitation to building code violations. She handled Freedom of Information and Privacy Act requests on behalf of the United States Department of Justice, Civil Division. Both before and during law school, Joanne also advocated for victims of domestic violence, securing divorces and temporary restraining orders on their behalf.
