Patrick Hagerty is an associate in Hughes Hubbard’s Media, Technology and Commercial Transactions Group.
Prior to joining Hughes Hubbard, Patrick was Assistant General Counsel in the technology transactions group at Cantor Fitzgerald, a Wall Street investment bank and financial services firm and innovator in fintech solutions, including electronic and high-speed trading and other disruptive financial sector technologies. There, he was the lead technology counsel for multiple business divisions and negotiated complex licensing transactions, outsourcing partnerships, managed services arrangements and cross-border consulting engagements. These initiatives included software configuration and deployment, IT platform and application hosting and development, data and analytics sourcing and monetization, ecommerce and payments solution integration and media and advertising content distribution across IP-connected platforms.
Following his tenure at Cantor Fitzgerald, Patrick joined global market research and strategic insights company Ipsos as Assistant General Counsel, where he focused on commercial transactions in the technology, media, advertising, automotive, pharmaceutical, retail, consulting and financial services sectors. He led negotiations for the provision of global research, analytics and consulting services for the firm, including media development, social intelligence analytics, market strategy, retail and consumer intelligence and user experience (UX).
Prior to entering the legal profession, Patrick was a corporate financial analyst for a privately-held investment and management firm.
