New York and Miami, April 10, 2012 — Hughes Hubbard & Reed announces that Aviva Wernick, a commercial litigator in the firm’s Miami office, has been named partner. Ms. Wernick began her legal career in Hughes Hubbard’s New York office. After spending two years at a major Tel Aviv law firm and becoming a member of the Israel Bar, she relocated to Hughes Hubbard’s Miami office.
According to Nick Swerdloff, managing partner of the firm’s Miami office, “Aviva is a very talented litigator who has been an integral part of the firm’s national litigation practice for many years. She has played a pivotal role in achieving favorable results in complex litigation matters, and is a significant and welcome addition to the partnership.” He noted that Ms. Wernick’s broad range of litigation and arbitration experience includes product liability and mass toxic tort, director and officer liability, consumer fraud class actions and complex commercial disputes.

Ms. Wernick received her B.A. magna cum laude from Yeshiva University and her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she was Editor of the Review of Law and Social Change.
