April 15, 2019 — James Klaiber, counsel in the firm's Intellectual Property & Technology practice, has been appointed chair of the New York City Bar Association (NYCBA) Council on Intellectual Property.

Klaiber was appointed chair on April 2 by NYCBA president Roger Juan Maldonado. He will serve a three-year term beginning Sept. 1.

Klaiber has been a member of the council since his appointment last October. The council acts as a steering committee for the City Bar's intellectual property efforts, and is made up of the current chairs of the Patents, Trademarks, Copyright, Information Technology & Cyberlaw, First Amendment, Art, Fashion and Entertainment Committees, as well as other IP practitioners.
