June 18, 2020 — On June 16, partner Chris Kiplok participated in an INSOL Focus webinar discussion of COVID-19's unprecedented financial impact on the aviation industry.

The webinar was hosted by London-based INSOL International, a worldwide federation of national associations of accountants and lawyers who specialize in turnaround and insolvency. More than 500 people registered for the webinar, which can be viewed here.

The panelists considered airline restructurings from the perspective of four different jurisdictions. They also discussed jurisdictional as well as cultural aspects and challenges; issues unique to airline insolvencies and restructurings; and examined how COVID-19 has changed the normal playbook for airline restructurings.

The panel also featured these INSOL International fellows: Mark Craggs, a partner at Norton Rose Fulbright; Nastascha Harduth, director at South African law firm Werksmans Attorneys; and Maria O'Brien, a partner at Baker McKenzie. Chip Hoebeke, a director at financial services firm Rehmann, moderated the session.
