Our international arbitration practice represents the world’s largest companies in complex disputes arising out of infrastructure projects, international investments, mergers & acquisitions and licensing and distribution agreements.  Our litigation department represents leading banks and industrial companies in all types of civil, commercial, criminal and regulatory disputes.

Hughes Hubbard also boasts one of the largest and most experienced internal investigations and anti-corruption practices in Paris.  We advise multinationals in their most sensitive and important investigations and regulatory proceedings.  Our lawyers develop risk-based compliance programs, conduct internal reviews, and navigate post-resolution requirements, including monitorships.

Our corporate lawyers advise clients on the structuring, negotiation and implementation of mergers and acquisitions in France and around the world.  We handle all forms of restructuring post acquisition and cover a broad range of other commercial and contractual matters in relation to day-to-day business of our clients.  We also work with clients to ensure that their operations comply with French and European Union competition laws, representing them before the various competition authorities, when required.

Our Banking practice has extensive experience in advising various financial institutions and their affiliates regarding their operations, including term financial instruments, debt instruments, structured products and regulatory issues.  Our African practice advises banks and governments in project, trade and export finance issues.

Our employment lawyers cover all aspects of labor law, advising and assisting clients with litigation, due diligence, compliance audits in all areas of employment law, individual and collective employment relations, corporate restructuring and downsizing, social security and social protection law and employment-related criminal law.  We assist our clients in their daily management of labor relations, as well as all types of legal and administrative proceedings.

Our Intellectual Property team represents leading U.S. and multinational companies in disputes over patents, trademarks, copyrights, design rights, performing rights and image rights, as well as in internet, e-commerce and domain name disputes. We assist major media companies regarding French media regulations, motion picture production, distribution and merchandising, film financing, talent contract negotiation and collective bargaining, and with anti-piracy and enforcement. We also advise on data protection and compliance matters.
