Aug. 18, 2025 – Mike Huneke was quoted in The National Law Journal on the status of the trade practices across big law firms amid President Donald Trump’s wide sweeping tariffs.

The article discusses how demand has grown in these practice areas, in everything from customs to export control to trade remedy work, both for domestic and foreign companies and in some cases foreign countries.

In the article, Huneke discusses how he expects this trend to continue in the coming months.

“I think we're going to see a lot of announcements of resolved enforcement activity, and whether that's plea agreements or deferred prosecution agreements, whether that's for export controls violations or False Claims Act cases related to tariffs,” Huneke said in the article. “I think we’re going to see a lot of concrete examples of potential risk and penalties in a very deliberate way from the government in the next three or four months.”
