October 23, 2020 — The firm represented Turnitin, a leading provider of academic integrity and assessment solutions, in its acquisition of ExamSoft from private equity firm Spectrum Equity.

ExamSoft is a software-based assessment platform that empowers educational institutions and certification and licensure programs to protect exam integrity, streamline assessment processes, and improve learning outcomes.

Headquartered in Oakland, Calif., Turnitin is a global company, with international offices in Australia, India, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands and the U.K., among other places. Over 15,000 academic institutions, publishers and corporations use its products.

Michael Traube led the HHR team, which also included Ken Lefkowitz, Alan Kravitz, Jim Fitzpatrick, Spencer Harrison, Patrice Jean, Nitzan Weizmann, Samuel Hurt, Shams Billah, Justin Cohen, Alexander Rahn, Nathalie Rey, Danielle Rosen, Lynn Russo and Arthur Souza-Rodrigues.
