January 3, 2024 – Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP announced today that Richard J. Miller, Jr. has joined as partner in the firm’s Private Client Services Law practice group in its New York office.

A leading national practitioner in tax, estate and trust planning for more than three decades, Miller guides clients on a wide range of estate and gift planning matters including complex wealth transfer tax planning, trust and estate administration and litigation and charitable planning for individuals, families and organizations.

During his thirty-plus year career in the family planning space, Miller has created customized solutions to preserve, transfer and deploy the significant financial assets of his clients, which include high-net-worth individuals and family offices as well as not-for-profit and charitable organizations.

Miller received his LL.M. from New York University School of Law and his J.D. Cum Laude from Albany Law School of Union University. He is also a member of various bar associations and committees, including the Surrogate’s Court Advisory Committee and is a past member of the Judicial Screening Committee for the Third Department of New York State. He is also a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Among his many volunteer board commitments, he is a Managing Director of the Metropolitan Opera.
