Overview

In 1972, Hughes Hubbard became the first major New York law firm to open an office in L.A. Unlike numerous branch offices that have come and gone in Los Angeles, we have continued the Hughes Hubbard tradition by repeatedly coming in first for our clients throughout the world with the highest quality legal work.

Our nimble team of California-admitted lawyers across our firm provides clients with extraordinary depth in many areas, including complex civil litigation, both in California and nationally, and in arbitration proceedings nationally and internationally under all major domestic and international rules and procedures. Unlike many of our competitors, we fulfill our clients’ desire to have their matters handled personally by experienced – and skillful – lawyers.

Our approach to disputes is strategic and custom tailored from the beginning of each representation to achieve the optimal result for our clients. We keep our clients’ business objectives and goals firmly in mind at all times. We represent international and national clients in a full range of matters, including class actions, antitrust, employment, insolvency, intellectual property, product liability, real property and RICO.  We also work closely with our other offices to provide a full range of legal services, including M&A, capital markets, financial services, corporate reorganization, anti-corruption and other internal investigations.
