New York, July 30, 2014 – Hughes Hubbard & Reed received the Gold Standard Certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum for the fourth consecutive year.

The award certifies and recognizes law firms that have integrated women into their highest leadership positions. The certification emphasizes leadership roles achieved by women equity partners, rather than the policies or practices of the firm or the overall number or percentage of women in partnership.

To receive gold status, firms with a minimum of 200 lawyers in the US had to satisfy at least four of the six categories involving women in key positions. Hughes Hubbard was one of only 16 firms nationally to qualify in five categories for having at least: Twenty percent of equity partners; 10 percent of the firm chairs and office managing partners; 20 percent of the firm’s primary governance committee; 20 percent of the firm’s compensation committee; and 10 percent of the top half of the most highly compensated partners. In the past four years only eight other firms have met five of the certification criteria.
