New York, June 11, 2013 — Hughes Hubbard & Reed today announced that the firm advised AMC Networks on the agreement between AMC Networks/Sundance Channel Global, the international division of AMC Networks, and DIRECTV Latin America to launch Sundance Channel in September in seven Latin American countries.

As a result of the deal, Sundance Channel will be available for the first time in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela where content will air in Spanish. DIRECTV will also launch a separate Portuguese-language channel for DIRECTV subscribers in Brazil at a later date.
