New York, February 3, 2014 — Hughes Hubbard & Reed announced today that David Schwartz has joined its Corporate Department as a partner based in the firm’s New York office.

Schwartz has extensive experience in the corporate and securities law practices, with a primary focus on public company mergers and acquisitions (M&A), including both hostile and negotiated transactions, special committee representations, corporate defense advice, and proxy contests. Schwartz also regularly counsels public companies and boards on general corporate and securities law matters, including governance and fiduciary duty issues and on-going reporting and compliance obligations. Additionally, he represents private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies in a broad range of transactions.

Prior to joining Hughes Hubbard, Schwartz practiced at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy in New York where he was a member of the corporate law practice. He has played a key role in numerous sophisticated M&A transactions, including Catalyst Health’s recent $4.75 billion merger with SXC Health Solutions.
