November/December 2018 - Roel Campos was profiled by Hispanic Executive Magazine for its 2018 edition of "Top Ten Leaders."

Each year, Hispanic Executive selects 10 outstanding leaders who have made a marked impact on their respective fields. This year's class made a major contribution through their role in the Latino Donor Collaborative (LDC), the only national organization that works specifically to change the stereotyped perception of Latinos in mainstream America.

The Oct. 15 profile, "Roel Campos Has a Very Personal American Dream," noted that Campos' commitment to helping educate the public about the importance of the Latino community to America's success led him to join the board of two organizations with that mission: the LDC, where he is a director; and the Smithsonian Latino Center, where he serves as chair of the board of advisers.

"I believe that, if the American public understands who we are and the contributions we have made to the nation, we will eventually become a more united and more prosperous country," he told the magazine.

According to the profile, Campos is one of a handful of Latino partners in the U.S. to head a practice group at a major law firm, and is one of the best-known lawyers in the country in his practice area of securities enforcement and regulation. Campos said he is proud to practice at Hughes Hubbard. "It is amazing to have as my partners some of the best lawyers in the country," he said.
