Latin Lawyer recognized the Chapter 11 restructuring plan of Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras S/A as a finalist for its Deal of the Year – Restructuring award. Hughes Hubbard represented United Airlines as a key strategic partner in the matter.

Azul emerged from Chapter 11 in February 2025 with a new equity investment and strategic support from United. Hughes Hubbard worked with United and Azul to structure the investment and arrive at consensus with Azul’s multiple stakeholders.
