May 29, 2025 – The New York Law Journal published the article “Profits Swelled at Hughes Hubbard in 2024, With PEP Up 24%,” which describes the firm’s the financial success under the leadership of Chair Neil Oxford and Managing Partner Robb Patryk, who moved into their roles in May 2024.

The article discusses how the firm’s litigation, aviation finance and corporate practices capitalized on strong demand, and how as a result the firm saw profits per equity partner grow by 24.1% in 2024. The firm also saw an increase in gross revenue, net income and revenue per lawyer.

“Our clients are coming to us for their major litigations, their major corporate deals,” Neil told New York Law Journal.

The article also covers the firm’s focus on growing strategically in key practice areas, alongside plans to build on the hiring of six partners in 2024: one in New York, three in Washington, DC, and two in Paris.

In the piece, Neil and Robb also touch on their working relationship – which started when Robb was assigned as Neil’s partner mentor 25 years ago – as well as the leadership transition from Ted Mayer, who served as chair and managing partner of the firm from 2017 to 2024.

Neil and Robb end the article discussing their expectations for the second half of 2025, and how the firm is well-positioned to weather market uncertainty, in part due to the strength of its litigation and corporate reorganization practices.
