New York, September 3, 2019 – Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP announced today that Nicolas Tollet has been elected a partner in the firm’s Anti-Corruption & Internal Investigations practice. He joined the firm as counsel in December 2016 from Technip, where he served as vice president of group compliance, and was based in Paris and Rio de Janeiro. Tollet’s practice focuses on internal investigations and compliance, with particular focus on anti-corruption and anti-money laundering.

“Nicolas’ expertise in assisting French and multinational companies with a variety of anti-corruption matters involving French law has been in high demand in the current French enforcement climate and complements our leading international anti-corruption enforcement practice,” said Ted Mayer, chair of Hughes Hubbard.

“Nicolas is a versatile and impressive practitioner and we are thrilled to welcome him as partner,” said Kevin Abikoff, chair of the Anti-Corruption and Internal Investigations practice. “Since joining the firm three years ago, Nicolas has also been a driving force behind the Paris office’s development and strategy.”

Tollet has significant experience in compliance, including navigating monitorships, conducting internal and external investigations, establishing robust compliance programs and conducting third-party due diligence. He has an in-depth knowledge of anti-corruption and anti-money laundering legislations and has worked on several of the largest transnational corruption cases in the world.

“When I first joined Hughes Hubbard, I was thrilled to work with a firm that I greatly admired and who also had the leading anti-corruption compliance practice in Paris,” said Tollet. “I am honored to now be elected partner, where I look forward to continuing the growth of the compliance group and contributing not only to the firm’s success, but first and foremost, that of our clients.”

Tollet is actively involved in the international compliance community. He regularly publishes articles on compliance, speaks at international conferences, and lectures on anti-corruption. In 2017, he was among 37 professionals selected by Global Investigations Review as the leading in-house professionals worldwide for internal investigations, and he is ranked Tier 1 by Legal 500 and identified as a Next Generation Lawyer.

He is admitted to practice in New York, Paris and the U.S. Supreme Court.
