June 3, 2022- Vilia Hayes received the Federal Bar Council's 2021 Whitney North Seymour Award.

The Award, which the Council presented at its 54th Annual Winter Bench & Bar Conference, recognizes Hayes' outstanding public service as a private practitioner.

The award is named after Whitney North Seymour, former leader of the bar. Previous recipients of the award include Robert Fiske, Kenneth Feinberg and Bernard Nussbaum.

"I realized how lucky I was to have combined participation in bar associations, nonprofit boards, and pro bono with my legal practice and how it enriches my life," Hayes said when receiving the award.
