Jan. 14, 2026 – In its January newsletter, Volunteer Legal Advocates highlighted Abigail McDonough’s pro bono service and featured an interview with her on its “Volunteer Spotlight” page.

In the interview, McDonough discusses her pro bono work with the organization, her most meaningful cases, and her commitment to furthering the firm’s partnership with Volunteer Legal Advocates.

“The case that I just worked on with the Volunteer Legal Advocates was very meaningful, as it was my first time advocating for a child client,” she said.

McDonough is also a member of the organization’s Junior Board, where she helps to expand its reach, strengthen its community partnerships, and proactively source pro bono matters and lawyers.

“Pro bono cases are great because they allow attorneys to gain valuable experience while advocating for those in need,” she said.

Volunteer Legal Advocates, formerly DC Volunteer Lawyers Project, provides pro bono legal services to survivors of domestic violence, immigrant survivors of gender-based violence and vulnerable children in dangerous situations throughout the Washington, DC, metropolitan area.
