December 1, 2021 – Clothilde Humbert has been elected to the position of Secrétaire de la Conférence (conference secretary) for 2022 by La Conférence des Avocats du Barreau de Paris, a prestigious bar institution in the French capital.

Humbert is one of 12 lawyers who made the final list – elected by their peers following a three-round oratory contest – from an initial candidate pool of 220.

The Conférence is charged by the bar association’s president with the defense of sensitive correctional and criminal matters (rapes, murder, terrorism, fast track procedures) from the custody stage until the trial before the French criminal courts.

Humbert’s responsibilities will include taking charge of planning the repartition of court hearings and serving as a liaison between lawyers and all court personnel, including judges.

The Conférence also represents the Paris bar in France and abroad, particularly with the French-speaking bars, and is present in sensitive trials abroad to report and alert when human rights are threatened.
