Sept 30, 2025 – Earlier this month, Diego Durán de la Vega and Jeremy Paner spoke about the areas of risk that companies operating in Mexico are facing due to the changing U.S. enforcement landscape.

On their panel, entitled “Measures Recently Imposed by the U.S. Government and the Risks They Pose to Mexican Companies,” they discussed the impact of U.S. government’s designation of Mexican cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations; the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network’s designation of three Mexican financial institutions as entities connected to fentanyl-related money laundering; and recent changes in Foreign Corrupt Practices Act enforcement.

The event was held in Monterrey, Mexico, and organized in collaboration with Mexican bar association Asociación Nacional de Abogados de Empresa Nuevo León and Mexican energy company Xignux.
