Hughes Hubbard & Reed represented leading transportation management firm Transplace Holdings LLC in its acquisition of fellow Third-party Logistics (3PL) provider M33 Integrated, which specializes in the packaging, chemical and advanced materials sectors.

Terms of the deal, which closed on Sept. 16, 2015, were not disclosed. The acquisition expands Transplace's vertical expertise and geographical reach, and further supports the company's commitment to strategic growth to meet the supply chain needs of its growing customer base.

"M33 Integrated brings a strong management team, robust technology solutions and an excellent customer base, particularly within the growing flexible packaging industry, that are complementary to Transplace's capabilities," said Transplace CEO Tom Sanderson. "The addition of M33 Integrated complements Transplace's current geographical footprint and deepens our middle market penetration, as well as expands on the company's vision to deliver outstanding value to all North American shippers."

Founded in 2000, Dallas-based Transplace is one of the top 10 freight capacity brokers in the US and the leading provider of 3PL services across North America. Owned by Hughes Hubbard client Greenbriar Equity Group, Transplace generates revenue in excess of $1.6 billion.
