Four Hughes Hubbard lawyers have been named to Legal 500’s inaugural New York Elite rankings for 2026.

Daniel Leslie was ranked Tier 1 and Andrés Berry was ranked Tier 2 in banking and finance, Chuck Samuelson earned a Tier 1 ranking for corporate and mergers and acquisitions, and Daniel Weiner was ranked Tier 1 for commercial disputes.

Berry focuses on U.S. and cross‑border transactions, with an emphasis on Latin America and the Caribbean. He recently represented Bladex as arranger in a $206 million financing for the acquisition by Grupo Estrella of Cemex’s cement operations in Panama.

Leslie advises on energy and infrastructure financings, with a focus on projects involving mining and critical minerals, renewables and other energy‑transition investments across the Americas, the Middle East and Africa.

Samuelson’s practice focuses on public and private M&A, joint ventures and other business combinations, as well as debt and equity financings. He recently represented Wipro in its $375 million acquisition of Harman Connected Services, as well as its $40 million acquisition of Value Technologies.

Weiner’s work spans litigation, arbitration, art law, complex business disputes, securities litigation and more. He recently advised Sompo Holdings in securing a major appellate victory involving one of Vincent van Gogh’s “Sunflowers” paintings.

The New York Elite rankings are part of Legal 500’s U.S. City Elite rankings, which recognize lawyers handling work at the top of the legal market in their respective cities, states or regions.
