Sept. 11, 2025 – Hughes Hubbard was ranked a Highly Recommended firm in the Latin Lawyer 250 for 2026, marking the fourth consecutive year the firm has been recommended by this guide.

The guide recommended the firm as a top international firm in Latin America for legal work in the following areas: banking and finance; arbitration; and anti-corruption investigations and compliance.

The guide highlighted the firm’s recent work in Latin America guiding banks in a $1.2 billion sustainability-linked loan to Brazilian paper and pulp company Suzano, as well as in a $1.5 billion term loan to transition metals company Vale Base Metals.

Latin Lawyer also noted Hughes Hubbard’s investor-state and commercial arbitration practices, as well as its litigation work, which includes high stakes disputes in Panama, Colombia, Mexico, Paraguay, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic and Peru.

Of the firm’s anti-corruption investigations and compliance practice, the publication highlighted the team’s work in the energy sector, where the firm’s lawyers have been advising European oil and gas companies on U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act enforcement matters in Latin America.
