Elizabeth A. Beitler is an associate in the firm’s Corporate Reorganization and Litigation departments.  She represents domestic and international companies restructuring their financial affairs, as well as creditors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcies and adversary proceedings.  Elizabeth also represented the SIPA Trustee of Lehman Brothers Inc. and currently represents the Trust Administrator of the Lehman Brothers Inc. Liquidating Trust.  In addition, Elizabeth has experience in internal investigations, including both anti-corruption and SEC compliance. 

Elizabeth also maintains an active pro bono practice, representing clients in immigration and Social Security cases.

  • Representation of Stanadyne and its subsidiary Pure Power on their section 363 asset sale to an entity formed by Cerberus, the prepetition agent and secured lender.
  • Representation of Delta Air Lines, Inc., as majority equity holder and strategic partner of Grupo Aeroméxico, S.A.B. de C.V., in Aeroméxico's chapter 11 restructuring.
  • Representation of the Litigation Trustee of Sears Canada in its highly complex bankruptcy proceedings in Ontario’s Superior Court of Justice.
  • Representation of the Trustee in the $123 billion liquidation of Lehman Brothers Inc., the largest bankruptcy in history. Secured a 100% recovery for customers, secured and priority claimants and distributed over $9 billion to general unsecured creditors.
  • Representation of DNB Bank ASA as special counsel in the bank’s role as a member of the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors of Valaris plc, a London-based offshore drilling contractor.
  • Representation of Exelco NV in the lead chapter 11, a Belgian diamond wholesaler and distributor, and six of its U.S. affiliates.
  • Pro bono representation of a Nigerian Immigrant seeking asylum from Elizabeth Immigration Court in New Jersey, because of past and probable future persecution based on her sexual orientation.
  • Pro bono representation of a 34-year-old client suffering from severe intellectual and psychological disabilities win an appeal for retroactive and current Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
  • Pro bono representation of a Jamaican client's release from federal immigration detention for a client after two years of appeals.
