January 2023 - Hughes Hubbard was recognized by Global Restructuring Review (GRR) as one of the top 30 law firms for restructuring and insolvency matters around the world.

HHR was included in the GRR 30, which ranks standout firms from the publication’s larger GRR 100 list. Firms were selected for the GRR 30 based on their top 10 cases for 2022, interviews with peers and clients, and their performance on the list in recent years.

Looking at recent cases, GRR praised the firm’s work on French minerals group Imerys’ Chapter 11 – the first attempted by a French company – as well as its advising of Delta in Aeroméxico’s Chapter 11 proceedings. Also covered were representations of Wells Fargo in the bankruptcy of three separate companies, alongside work for Norway’s DNB Bank in the Texas-based Chapter 11 of London-based offshore drilling contractor Valaris.

In describing HHR’s “historic track record,” GRR highlighted the representation of the bankruptcy trustee in the historic liquidation of Lehman Brothers, in addition to the firm’s work relating to Nortel, Doral Bank and more.
