New York, March 8, 2024 – Hughes Hubbard & Reed is pleased to announce that its Executive Committee has unanimously elected partner Neil Oxford to serve as Chair and partner Robb Patryk to serve as Managing Partner, effective May 1, 2024. They succeed Ted Mayer, who has held both roles since 2017, and who is retiring from the partnership. Partner Ken Lefkowitz will continue as a Deputy Chair. Deputy Chair Kevin Abikoff will assume the additional role of leading the firm’s lateral partner recruiting efforts, reporting to the Executive Committee. All will continue their active practices and share management responsibilities as appropriate to ensure that the firm and their individual practices continue to thrive.

Gerard Cruse will continue in his role as Chief Operating Officer.

In addition to his complex commercial litigation and investigations practice, Oxford has served on the firm’s Compensation Committee. Patryk, a litigator focused on product liability, toxic torts, employment and other complex disputes, has served on the Firm’s Executive Committee.

“This is a strong team. Working closely with our office leaders, practice group heads, and all our partners, Neil and Robb will preserve our firm values while bringing a fresh dynamic and vision to leadership,” said Mayer.

“I am grateful to Ted for his long-tenured leadership and support his decision to step into a Senior Counsel role after such a distinguished career here at Hughes Hubbard,” said Oxford, incoming Chair. “As Chair, I look forward to guiding the firm’s growth, continuing to enhance our reputation that’s built on 135 years of legal excellence, while also continuing to broaden our diversity and inclusion."
