New York, November 18, 2015 — Hughes Hubbard & Reed proudly announced today that it received a perfect score of 100 percent on the 2016 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. The firm joins the ranks of more than 400 US businesses that achieved 100 percent this year.

“Diversity has been part of our DNA since our founding more than a century ago. Earning a perfect score on the Corporate Equality Index is a testament to our commitment to the values of diversity and inclusion,” said Diane Lifton, partner and co-chair of Hughes Hubbard’s Diversity Committee.

“We are proud to be recognized as a top employer for the LGBT community,” added Meaghan Gragg, associate and chair of Hughes Hubbard's LGBT Attorney Affinity Group. “Hughes Hubbard has an enduring commitment to diversity, and our CEI score is yet another example of this bedrock firm value.”

The 2016 CEI rated 1,027 businesses in the report, which evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community.
