November 1, 2019 - Hughes Hubbard was recognized for its pro bono achievements at the Vance Center for International Justice's fourth annual "Celebration of International Pro Bono Excellence," held at the New York City Bar Association.

The firm was honored at the Oct. 24 awards ceremony by the Center's Human Rights and Access to Justice program for its work on behalf of Proética -- the Peruvian chapter of Transparency International -- in connection with a project on crimes against humanity.

Benjamin Britz, Jan Dunin-Wasowicz and Ernesto Alvarado spearheaded the project, with assistance from Bryan Sillaman, Stephen Fowler and Athena Arbes.

The Center partners with hundreds of global law firms to provide pro bono legal representation to several social justice organizations, in addition to promoting diversity in the legal profession.

HHR was honored alongside four other law firms: Paul Hastings for Human Rights and Access to Justice; Weil, Gotshal & Manges and Clifford Chance for Environment; and Baker McKenzie for Good Governance.
