Hughes Hubbard's D.C. office was among 30 law firms honored by the federal judiciary for its commitment to pro bono services in the local community in 2013.

The "40 at 50 Judicial Pro Bono Recognition," conferred by the D.C. Circuit Judicial Conference Standing Committee on Pro Bono Legal Services, honors offices in which at least 40 percent of the office's lawyers performed 50 or more hours of pro bono services in 2013.

On April 23, 2014, the 11th annual breakfast event recognized Hughes Hubbard as one of only two firms with 60 percent or more of all lawyers contributing at least 50 pro bono hours in 2013 and reaching the "40 at 50" participation goal at the partner-level. The other firm was Kirkland & Ellis.

The recognition ceremony and breakfast was held at the E. Barrett Prettyman U.S. Courthouse and drew coverage in The National Law Journal's The Blog of the Legal Times.

Pro bono coordinator Allison Carle and Danny Grossman represented Hughes Hubbard at the event. John Wood oversees the pro bono program in the D.C. office
