Social Media in Law Practice: Lawyer Ethics and Litigation Issues

Ignatius Grande was featured in the "Attorney Spotlight" of wireLawyer, an online professional network for lawyers.

The profile, which appeared in wireLawyer's weekly newsletter on May 8, noted that Grande "advises clients on the management of their social media presence and in the preservation and collection of social media information."
 
In a Q&A, Grande said "[l]awyers need to be savvy about social media so that they can properly advise clients on their presence. Lawyers can be savvy on social media by truly understanding each platform at issue and the potential ramifications."
 
Grande also noted that "[a]ttorneys have obligations to make use of social media in litigation, but in an ethical manner. Attorneys must research the public content of other parties and understand what social media they should request in discovery."
