What Directors Need to Know in 2018 About Board Diversity

This article discusses how large investors have challenged many public companies to improve their gender, racial, and ethnic diversity and will continue to apply pressure in 2018 and beyond. Boards will also be pressed by investors to adopt a formal diversity policy. A significant challenge for many boards will be to take the steps to adopt both an effective diversity policy and  to provide a robust disclosure in the proxy that specifies the directors’ qualifications and background characteristics.
