Charles Evans Hughes Memorial Lecture to Examine a Supreme Court Statesman’s Legacy
Hughes Hubbard and the New York County Lawyers Association will host the 59th annual lecture on Oct. 15 in New York.
Hughes Hubbard, in partnership with the New York County Lawyers Association, will host the 59th Charles Evans Hughes Memorial Lecture in the firm’s New York office on Oct. 15, 2026.
The lecture – “Presidential Material” Should Be “Supreme Court Material,” and Vice Versa: The Charles Evans Hughes Model – will be presented by John Q. Barrett, Benjamin N. Cardozo Professor of Law at St. John’s University.
Established more than 70 years ago, the Charles Evans Hughes Memorial Lecture honors firm founder Charles Evans Hughes, who served as Chief Justice of the United States, U.S. Secretary of State and Governor of New York.
The program will be held in person, with a virtual attendance option available. Participants may earn one New York CLE credit in Professional Practice.
