Hughes Hubbard Elevates Sean Reilly to Partner
Hughes Hubbard is pleased to announce Sean Reilly has been elevated to partner, effective June 1.
Reilly, based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, is the co-chair of the firm’s Sanctions, Export Controls & Anti-Money Laundering practice group.
With over two decades of experience, he advises U.S. and international clients on economic sanctions, export controls, foreign investment national security reviews and proceedings before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), as well as compliance program design and internal investigations.
In addition to his regulatory practice, Reilly represents clients in complex commercial litigation matters, including products liability, securities class actions and derivative litigation.

Prior to joining Hughes Hubbard, Reilly served at the U.S. Department of Commerce, including as assistant to the secretary and director of the Office of Policy and Strategic Planning, where he advised on international trade, export controls and foreign policy matters, working closely with White House and cabinet agencies. Earlier in his career, he served as a judge advocate in the United States Air Force.
Reilly earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame Law School and his B.S., cum laude, from the University of Richmond.
