Hughes Hubbard lawyers Diego Durán de la Vega, Gaela Gehring Flores and Emilio Saiz have been named to Latinvex's 2026 Latin America's Top 100 Lawyers list.

Durán de la Vega and Gehring Flores were recognized in the Arbitration & Litigation category, with the publication highlighting the firm's recent work advising the Republic of Panama on high stakes negotiations and strategic planning regarding $30 billion in investment arbitration claims lodged by First Quantum, KOMIR, and Franco-Nevada related to the closure of the Cobre Panamá copper mine.

The publication also highlights the firm’s work serving as lead counsel for the Republic of Peru in a $1 billion commercial arbitration relating to the alleged breach of a share purchase agreement for a metallurgical complex.

Saiz was recognized in the Aviation and Banking & Finance categories, with the publication highlighting his work advising a global bank syndicate on $2 billion revolving credit facilities for Brazilian miner Vale and Vale Base Metals Limited group, as well as a worldwide syndicate of banks on a $1.775 billion revolving credit facility for Brazilian paper company Suzano.
