Hughes Hubbard Represents Galaxy Brand Holdings in Purchase of Avia and Nevados

New York, May 14, 2013 — Hughes Hubbard & Reed announced today that the firm represented Galaxy Brand Holdings, Inc. in the purchase of Avia and Nevados from Brown Shoe Company, Inc. (NYSE: BWS) for $74 million.

Galaxy Brand Holdings, Inc. is a New York-based brand acquisitions and development firm recently founded by a team of industry veterans. The company was formed to acquire brands and other intellectual property in the apparel, footwear and accessory markets, which have broad, global, consumer appeal.

The Hughes Hubbard team was led by Kenneth A. Lefkowitz, with assistance from Andrew Braiterman, Spencer L. Harrison, Mark Denham, Bruce Goldberger, Wayne Josel, Natasha Reed, Michael Traube, Kathleen O'Donnell, Lindsay Orosz, Jillian Kane and Nathaniel Fintz.
