August 2019 – Hughes Hubbard has been named to The American Lawyer’s 2019 A-List, the legal magazine’s list of the nation’s 20 most elite law firms.

In a feature story published in the magazine’s August issue, AmLaw noted that the A-List doesn’t simply measure size or profits. “Rather, it highlights the best of the best law firms for their commitment to a variety of financial and cultural markers: revenue per lawyer, pro bono work, associate satisfaction, racial diversity and gender diversity among the partnership.”

“We’re honored to once again be recognized by The American Lawyer on this prestigious list,” said Ted Mayer, chair of Hughes Hubbard. “This recognition reflects the values of our firm and our dedication to achieving strong results for our clients and our lawyers.”

HHR ranked 11th on this year’s list with an overall score of 84.2. The ranking marks HHR’s 13th time on the exclusive list in 16 years.

AmLaw added the metric for gender diversity among the partnership in 2017 to recognize firms for supporting women and elevating them to leadership. HHR achieved high diversity and female equity partner scores. The firm also excelled in pro bono work, with an overall score of 97.5, the fourth-highest on the A-List.

HHR’s “A-List” ranking is the latest in a series of accolades for the firm in the past year, including a top spot in AmLaw’s annual pro bono survey once again and receiving the Gold Standard Certification by the Women in Law Empowerment Forum for the ninth consecutive year.
