Agnès Braka-Calas is a member of the Banking & Financial Services department in Hughes Hubbard & Reed’s Paris office and has been a qualified lawyer in France since 1998. She concentrates on all aspects of banking and finance law, including financing, banking and financial regulations, asset management, transfer of loan portfolios and receivables, and the restructuring and acquisition of financial institutions. Agnès works mainly with international financial institutions, investment firms, asset management companies, investment funds and international unregulated companies.

Her experience includes:

  • Financing: Includes acquisition finance and project finance, particularly in the infrastructure and energy sectors. Agnès is involved in all stages of a transaction, from the negotiation to the drafting of finance and security documents
  • Banking and financial regulations: Includes banking and financial licenses, European passports, and drafting rules of good conduct in anti-money laundering procedures
  • Asset management: Includes the setting up of structured investment vehicles for all types of investors, mergers of investment vehicles, and marketing rules of investment vehicles in France
  • Transfer of loan portfolios and receivables
  • Restructuring and acquisition of financial institutions, including mergers, acquisitions and business sales
