  • Representation of real estate-backed specialty lender in dozens of loan disputes in New York and Illinois, including $30 million wire fraud case. Won summary judgments or settlements in excess of $30 million.
  • Represented prominent group of biotechnology companies and their principals as national litigation counsel handling loan, securities, and contract disputes in New York, Maryland, Delaware, and Massachusetts, including $230 million loan dispute and $73 million licensing agreement litigation.
  • Representation of private equity firm in litigation over its interests in $480 million petroleum company sale. Won summary judgment on all seven counts of Amended Complaint, won dismissal of all eleven counts of the opposing parties’ counterclaims, won finding that adversary pressed litigation in bad faith and without substantial justification, and obtained recovery valued at $65 million, plus reimbursement of all of our client’s attorneys’ fees and costs.
  • Representation of government contractor in multi-million dollar disputes with subcontractors
  • Representation of minority ownership group in buy-sell dispute concerning the sale of a $150 million office building in Washington, D.C.
  • Representation of large minority partners in litigation and pre-litigation disputes concerning various real estate partnerships owning shopping mall, residential apartment complexes, office buildings, and raw land in the Washington metropolitan area valued at more than $500 million.
  • Representation of real estate developer in litigation and various other matters over his interest in $106 million office building and contiguous property located in the Washington metropolitan area.
  • Representation of a director of a U.K.-based oil company and an official of the Federal Government of Somalia in connection with terrorism allegations asserted by the United Nations Monitoring Group for Somalia and Eritrea.
  • Representation of the Federal Republic of Somalia in various matters, including conducting an investigation of financial corruption allegations asserted by the United Nations Monitoring Group for Somalia and Eritrea.
