Lennart Vazzoler is an associate in Hughes Hubbard’s New York office and works within the Arbitration and Litigation groups. Lennart represents clients in international arbitration matters, commercial litigation, investigations, and is also active in the Firm’s pro bono work.
Prior to joining the Firm, Lennart interned at law firms in Luxembourg and Argentina. He holds law degrees from Sciences Po Paris and Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, and completed his LL.M. at New York University with a concentration in “International Business Regulation, Litigation, and Arbitration.” He also completed a Diplomatura de Arbitraje at the Universidad Austral in 2019.
Lennart is fluent in French, German, Spanish and English and is civil and common law trained.
Selected Matters
- Representing one of the largest oil and gas importers, distributors and retailers in Paraguay in an active ICC arbitration seated in New York and under Paraguayan law, with Spanish as official language.
- Representing one of the largest micro-lending companies in Mexico against a large New York fund in a commercial dispute.
- Successful representation of the Republic of Panama in the context of an ICC proceeding against Minera Panamá, S.A.
- Counsel to a Ukrainian investor in the energy sector in UNCITRAL arbitration proceedings against the Russian Federation
- Counsel to a French investor in a PCA arbitration against the Dominican Republic
- Representation of Deutsche Telekom in actions to enforce an arbitral award rendered in its favor against India arising out of a telecommunications investment
- Represented a multinational oil and gas company regarding an internal review of compliance with economic sanctions
