Eda Stark is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Hughes Hubbard & Reed in the Intellectual Property & Technology practice group. Eda represents innovator companies across a range of industries in high-stakes, high-risk disputes related to complex technologies. Eda has experience in a wide variety of forums, including before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), and district courts in many states.
Prior to joining the firm, Eda was in-house counsel in the aerospace industry at Virgin Galactic working on legal issues surrounding commercial human space travel. Before moving in-house, Eda was a litigation associate at a global Intellectual Property law firm. While in law school, Eda built the foundation of her patent practice doing patent prosecution and freedom to operate due diligence analysis as a technology specialist at a boutique Intellectual Property law firm.
Prior to her legal career, Eda spent nearly a decade as a scientist in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. At Pfizer and Novartis, Eda worked to develop treatments for neurological and ophthalmic diseases. She also has experience with medical imaging technologies, e.g., Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) through her academic research, including at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
