  • Representation of Ukrainian investors in five arbitrations against the Russian Federation under the Russia-Ukraine Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) arising out of measures carried out after the Russian annexation of Crimea
  • Representation of investor in expropriation claim against the Russian Federation in BIT arbitration in Stockholm that secured the first award holding that the Russian measures taken against Yukos Oil Company amounted to expropriation
  • Co-counsel for Crystallex in Crystallex International Corporation v. Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, ICSID Case No. ARB(AF)/11/2–work resulted in an award of approximately $1.4 billion (one of the largest investment treaty arbitration awards in history)
  • Counsel to Canada in two state-to-state arbitrations with the United States concerning the 2006 Softwood Lumber Agreement, The United States of America v. Canada, LCIA Case. No. 111790 (2011-2012) and The United States of America v. Canada, LCIA Case. No. 81010B (2013-2014)–work resulted in two awards in favor of Canada
  • Representation of multiple claimants in arbitrations against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela all of the decided cases resulted in favorable decisions and awards
  • Representation of multiple claimants in arbitrations against the Republic of Argentina–all of the decided cases resulted in favorable decisions and awards
  • Representation of respondent states, including Angola, Bahrain, Cameroon, Canada, Ecuador, Finland, Guatemala, Germany, Hungary, Jamaica, Japan, Latvia, Lesotho, Lithuania, Mexico, Mozambique, Netherlands, Pakistan, Paraguay, Seychelles, Turkey and Thailand, in various matters arising under bilateral and multilateral treaties, other public international law instruments and claims brought in US courts and administrative agencies
